About the Hub
We are a Community focussed charity who through social action, support and care for our neighbourhood wish to enhance the Buckhurst Hill residents life experience.
Our Vision
Through action, support and care our aim is to initiate activities and services for the people of Buckhurst hill and surrounding areas, to form a cohesive society, with a community feel where we take care of one another. We wish to explore the needs of families, children and those older in years, so that we can take action to support them and care for their needs wherever they are.
Why?
We are a God led organisation, who wish to practically and holistically ‘Love thy Neighbour’ whether they are of any faith or none. We want to show the love of Christ to the local community through action support and care. We aim to be Gods practical witness caring for the community by setting up initiatives and activities that enhance our community.
Our story so far…..
The trustees of Noah’s Ark Christian Preschool felt led to serve the families of children who attended a 3 hour session every morning. The idea of a Community Hub was born, which would offer a range of services and social groups for the local neighbourhood to enhance life experiences. The COVID pandemic lockdown along with the gradual re-opening of society has heightened awareness of the needs of isolated neighbours of every age. The vision of our new initiative became a reality when the trustees took the step to establish the Noah’s Ark Community Hub in late 2020, with a full time Outreach Manager recruited in 2021 to drive the vision forward.
Our offer ….
Community Pantry open Tuesday 10 – 4, Wednesday 10 – 4 and Thursday 10 -1:30
Knit and Natter Group Thursdays 2:30 – 4:00
Community Lunch – the fourth Tuesday of the month 12:30 – 2:00
Bereavement Friends – the second Wednesday of the month 2:30 – 4:00
